Meaning of Numbers: The Number 350
The possible meaning of the number 350 is derived primarily from the occurrence of certain words in Scripture.
Noah was 600 years old when God caused the great worldwide flood which killed likely 3 billion or more people! After the flood he lived another 350 years to the ripe old age of 950 (Genesis 9:29). Noah was one of only nine people in human history to have lived 900 or more years (the others were Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Jared and Methuselah). Only Jared, at 962 years, and Methuselah, at 969 years, experienced a longer lifespan.
The English word "Aaron" is found 350 times in 331 King James Bible verses. It is recorded the most in Exodus (116 times) followed by the book of Numbers (101). Only 5 of the 350 occurrences of the word appears in the New Testament (Luke 1:5, Acts 7:40, Hebrews 5:4, 7:11 and 9:4).
Aaron was the older brother of Moses whom God used to be his spokesman to the Egyptians and the Israelites since Moses begged not to speak (Exodus 4:10 - 1).
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well . . . (Exodus 4:14, KJV).
Appearances of Number Three Hundred Fifty
The Hebrew word YHVH, Strong's #H3068, is the most common original language term used for God in Scripture. It is written in 350 verses in the book of Numbers. Although the King James Bible translates it as "LORD" (all capitals), some versions of Holy Writ such as the American Standard Version translate it as "Jehovah."
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD (YHVH) God made the earth and the heavens (Genesis 2:4, KJV).
The English word "Lord" is written 350 times in 252 verses of the King James translation of the book of 1Samuel. Its first appearance is in the book's third verse.
And this man (the prophet Samuel's father) went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there (1Samuel 1:3, KJV).
The name "Jacob" is recorded 350 times in 320 King James Old Testament verses. It is translated as "Jacob" the most in Genesis (181 times) followed by Isaiah (42) and the Psalms (34). Jacob was the twin brother of Esau, both of whom were born to Isaac and Rebekah.
And when her (Rebekah's) days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob . . . (Genesis 25:24 - 26, KJV).
Jacob, after various trials and troubles, ultimately has his name changed to Israel after he wrestled with a "man" (a manifestation of Jesus Christ) all night long (Genesis 32:24 - 30).
Spirit and the Number 350
The Greek word pneuma, Strong's #G4151, is written 385 times in 350 Greek New Testament verses. The word means to blow or breathe air, or can refer to the movement of air such as a wind. Pneuma is used in English words such as "pneumatic" to describe something that uses air or is operated by air pressure (e.g., a pneumatic tire or pneumatic drill).
Out of pneuma's 350 verses it is written in it is utilized the most in the book of Acts (70 times) followed by 1Corinthians (41) then the gospel of Luke (38). Pneuma is usually translated as "spirit" in the King James New Testament. It is erroneously translated as "ghost," however, in 97 verses such as Matthew 1:18, Mark 13:11, Luke 1:15 and others.
Pneuma sometimes refers to spirits that are evil (Matthew 10:1, Luke 4:36) or to the spirit every human possesses that grants him or her the power of mind (1Corinthians 2:11). Its most common usage, however, is related to God's Holy Spirit. God is composed of spirit (John 4:24) which is the power through which he creates and accomplishes his will. His Holy Spirit, given to those who repent and are baptized, gives believers the power to overcome and develop righteous character.
The Trinity is one of the central teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as well as most Protestant groups. This belief defines the Godhead as composed of three Beings or co-equal Persons known as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, such an erroneous teaching is not supported in Scripture.
The truth is that the Trinity doctrine was not taught by the early New Testament church. It was not officially defined and made a central tenet of Christendom until the First Council of Constantinople which was held more than 350 years AFTER God's true church started in 30 A.D.!
