Meaning of Numbers: The Number 1001
The possible meaning of the number 1001 is derived partly from its link to Jesus' millennial rule over the earth.
King David began his seven and one-half years rule over the tribe of Judah in 1010 B.C. (2Samuel 2:4, 5:1 - 5, 1Chronicles 3:4, 29:27). A few years later, one of King Saul's surviving sons named Ishbosheth ruled over the rest of Israel from roughly 1005 to 1003 B.C. The year 1001 B.C. represents only the second full year that David was able to rule over all the tribes of Israel. David would ultimately rule over part or all of ancient Israel for 40 1/2 years.

Hebrew, Greek and the Number 1001
Entry 1001 in the Hebrew definition portion of Strong's Concordance is the word biyra. It is actually an Aramaic word that occurs only once in Scripture and means a castle, palace or citadel.
And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace (biyra) that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written . . . (Ezra 6:2, KJV).
Entry 1001 in the Greek definition portion of Strong's Concordance is the word bolizo. It means to take a sounding to determine the depth of water. The word is used only twice, both of which are in a single New Testament verse.
But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
And sounded (bolizo), and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded (bolizo) again, and found it fifteen fathoms (Acts 27:27 - 28, KJV).
Year 1001 of Jesus' Rule!
What will take place in year 1001 of Jesus' rule on the earth? Jesus' disciples were promised, on the day the Lord ascended into heaven, that he would return to the earth. This amazing promise was conveyed by two angels who were sent to the Mount of Olives where the disciples were gazing up into the sky.
"You men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, shall come in exactly the same manner as you have seen Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11, HBFV).
Bible prophecy states that the Lord will return to earth to save humans from the satanic rule of the Beast and the False Prophet (Revelation 19). He will usher in an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity known as the Millennium which will last for one thousand years (Revelation 20:4).
The Great White Throne Judgment will then take place at the end of the Millennium. It will be a time when countless humans, who never had a full chance at salvation, will be resurrected and given their chance.
Then I saw a great white throne and the one Who was sitting on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away . . .
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works (Revelation 20:11 - 12, HBFV).
The Bible seems to indicate that those resurrected will be given up to one hundred years of life in order to repent and build righteous character (Isaiah 65:17 - 20). Year 1001 of the Kingdom of God's earthly rule through Jesus will be the first year billions of "unsaved" humans will be able to have a close, personal relationship with their Savior.
